Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom wins EDGE’s Game of the Year

The long-established publication EDGE has revealed its picks for the cream of the crop, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom coming out on top as its Game of the Year winner. Its runner-up was Baldur’s Gate 3 and the bronze medal was given to Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Other inclusions included Alan Wake 2, Counter-Strike 2, Street Fighter 6, A Highland Song, and more.

As shared on ResetEra, Nintendo’s secondary golden child took home the prize, making this another win for the game. It did win an award at the Golden Joystick Awards, as well as taking home the Best Action Adventure during The Game Awards. It’s not too surprising, as it’s a solid game that means so much to so many people. And while it didn’t fare so well in the GOTY spot during TGA 2023, it can at least take solace that wasn’t Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which took home zero awards despite being nominated for seven.

As you might expect, Tears of the Kingdom also nabbed EDGE’s Best Nintendo Game, with Nintendo as a whole being awarded Best Publisher.
