Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won no awards at TGA 2023 despite 7 nominations

Insomniac Games came home empty-handed with zero wins at The Game Awards 2023. Insomniac also has zero awards of 24 nominations from previous TGAs. Talk about that Parker luck…

The awards were dominated by Baldur’s Gate 3, which won a total of six awards, including the coveted 2023 Game of the Year. Meanwhile, Alan Wake II took home three awards for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.

However, Spider-Man fans were quick to denounce the zero wins on social media. Many were deriding both The Game Awards and Insomniac for this unenviable feat. Nonetheless, Insomniac Games was graceful on social media to thank fans for their support.

In our Spider-Man 2 review, we agreed that the game is more of the same, so it did not deserve to be the Game of the Year. Nonetheless, we had lots of fun with the excellent traversal and fast-paced combat, which have been perfected in the sequel. And good enough should not stop you from experiencing this fun title, especially if you are a Spider-Man fan.
