DayZ dev trolls The Day Before dev for closure

Most of the time, it isn’t that tactful to bash a studio for closing due to financial struggles, however, when it’s The Day Before dev Fntastic, that’s a whole different story. Coming only hours after revealing its closure, DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive shared a joking yet heartfelt post parodying Fntastic’s announcement.

Doubling as a 10-year anniversary post on Twitter, Bohemia extended its gratitude for the unwavering support of its community as the game continues in Early Access. The game is still five days away from a proper anniversary, but with the unsurprising closure of Fntastic following the botched launch of The Day Before, we suppose the team just couldn’t help it.

Splattered through the anniversary message were not-so-subtle jabs at the suspiciously dissolved dev. Not long after, the team behind the other survival hit Rust, Facepunch Studios, went full “can I copy your homework” mode and simply dashed out certain words from DayZ’s post to apply to it in its own post. While it’s unfortunate that many were scammed out of $39.99 for the Early Access title, we can’t say it isn’t funny to see other survival devs banding together to rag on what is obviously a long-con scam project.
