Baldur’s Gate 3 soars passed 10 million sales

Larian Studios’ director of publishing, Michael Douse, has asserted that Baldur’s Gate 3 has sold over 10 million copies in a “very short space of time.” Mod support is on the way, but hotfixes and patches appear to be hurting the modding community by breaking said mods.

Douse passively addressed the sales number in a Twitter thread, which was largely geared toward people lobbing threats and toxic behavior toward the dev and community mod makers.

We’re not surprised this game has surpassed this milestone considering the slew of awards it’s received and overwhelming praise that fans have given the studio for not only the game, but its rather strong community ties and desire to encourage more RPGs. Of course, some may find it bitter that the game isn’t coming to Game Pass, but it was certainly a year-defining game.

More Smash Jump: A white all-digital Xbox Series X might be dropping soon, Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones supposedly has less than a million players, and Rainbow Six Siege director believes it could “last forever.”
