New all-digital white Xbox Series X allegedly in the works

Microsoft might be going even further with its attempts at a digital-first landscape as a new version of its more powerful, disc-reading Xbox Series X is allegedly in the works. Admittedly, it’s hard to fully believe, but some stuff has led to questions on how serious it is when it comes to the physical market.

Sources close to Exputer claim the console, which will replace its sleek black with what we imagine to be the Series S’ white, is due out in June or July, but has a chance of a delay. Supposedly, this new console will come with some other upgrades that might help it stay on top and perhaps actually find more success. This does sound a lot like a previous leak that pointed to a cylindrical “adorably all-digital” Xbox Series X refresh (via Forbes), but the report does not make it clear if it’s linked to that supposed refresh.

Based on the report, allegedly, it will have an improved heatsink and Nexus card. It will also supposedly be less than the current Series X, it’s allegedly between $50-$100 less than the current disc-reading unit. That said, this is all just rumors and until Xbox comes forward and outright announces it, we’re left just sitting here expecting something that is inevitable — a console refresh is hardly a new thing, after all.
