3 years later and it looks like Hazelight is ready to reveal its next new game

Hazelight Studios has been bathing in the success of It Takes Two for the last couple years now and it looks like it’s ready to share what’s next for the Swedish studio. Of course, we were already expecting a new game to be revealed this year, but this seems like just that much more confirmation.

People suspected Hazelight’s next game was going to be revealed during one of the many, many summer-bound showcases, but it didn’t happen. Looking over on social media, though, it seems like studio founder Josef Fares took a trip to meet up with industry vet Geoff Keighley ahead of Gamescom, noting that “good s**t” is happening this year, leading to that post getting quoted by Hazelight itself.

While not confirmed, it seems like Fares’ studio is gonna show off something during Gamescom Opening Night Live this August, but it’s hard to say the extent of what we’ll get. We could get a glimpse into what the studio is working on or it may be something tied to one of its existing properties such as a DLC and some sort of small breadcrumb of info about what its next game will offer.

If we had to guess, we’d assume this next game will hinge on multiplayer and be more a narrative experience with a heartfelt tone.
