Kingdom Hearts 4 will be a no show at Summer Game Fest

It appears Square Enix is either not planning on attending the upcoming Summer Game Fest event or is simply not going to show off Kingdom Hearts 4. Of course, not all studios have been revealed ahead of the June 7 event.

During a Twitch Q&A, host and creator Geoff Keighley was answering questions and noted that he “didn’t know why” people kept asking for KH4 and that those asking were “setting themselves up for failure.” He suspects the reason behind peoples’ hopes was because of last year showing off Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

For most any KH fan, this is no doubt a huge letdown as the game itself lacks basically any concrete info, with the closest thing to major news being the games heading to Steam. It isn’t confirmed that it won’t appear, and Keighley might just be readying to pulling the rug from under fans, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Luckily, we don’t have a long wait with things kicking off on Friday at 2 PM PST.
