WWE star to appear in Happy Gilmore 2

WWE star Becky Lynch has filmed scenes for Netflix’s upcoming Happy Gilmore 2. The film is a continuation to the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy.

Confirmed by PWInsider (via Comicbook), Lynch will play a role in the film, though, not as the only wrestler, with AEW’s MJF taking the role of Sandler’s son in the flick. Seeing the WWE wrestler taking more acting roles isn’t too shocking as she remains on hiatus from wrestling. She’s been pegged for roles in a Paramount Plus project tied to Star Trek, a role in Young Rock, and supposedly, she was part of a cut scene in Marvel Eternals.

Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2 was kind of a shocking reveal last month thanks to the fact the original was well over two decades ago. It’s hard to say whether or not it will contain the same sort of charm that the original had, though, with much of the old crew back together, it isn’t out of the question that it could just feel like one big reunion.

Happy Gilmore 2 has no scheduled release date, but is slated for 2025.
