New Pinocchio horror flick by Blood and Honey team cast horror icons

Following the niche following received from its horror slasher, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Rhys Frake-Waterfield and produced by Scott Jeffrey and its horror banner, Jagged Edge Productions, are tackling another public domain tale and slapping a horror twist on it. In this case, it’s Pinocchio in Pinocchio: Unstrung, which this time around has some notable horror vets.

In a Variety report, it reveals horror icon Robert Englund, best known for bringing to life Freddy Krueger, has joined the cast alongside Rob Zombie collaborator Richard Brake. It isn’t clear who Englund will play, but Brake is taking the role of Geppetto.

The film follows James, the grandson of Geppetto as he learns of the deadly Pinocchio. We also have Cameron Bell, Jessica Balmer, Jack Art Gray, and Peter De Souza-Feighoney all tied to the film. In the end, it sounds like we’re in for “a crazy ride,” from what Brake says.

“Not only is the script dark, twisted and gory, it’s also at times very funny. Todd Masters and his team have created incredible practical effects. Audiences are in for a crazy ride.”

Pinnocchio: Unstrung has no confirmed release date, but is eyeing a summer 2025 release window.
