In not even a week on Disney Plus, Inside Out 2 has proved to be a momentous success for Pixar and Disney, topping at 30.5 million views in the short time it’s been on the service. The flick premiered on September 25.
As reported by Variety, the Kelsey Mann-led sequel has topped that milestone, making it both the biggest theatrical release since Encanto back in 2021 and Disney Plus’ biggest debut of the year. Additionally, in places like Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, it’s also the service’s biggest premiere full stop.
Inside Out 2 managed to topple the empire of Frozen 2, surpassing its box office performance with $1.7 billion. What’s more it had a meager — in comparison — budget of $200 million. Meanwhile it’s the first film of the year to surpass a billion and is still the top-grossing film of the year.
