Dwayne Johnson wears bodysuit in new live action Moana

Reprising his role as demigod, Maui, Dwayne Johnson takes to the big screen to flex his muscles. However, it seems even as chiseled as he is, he isn’t quite the demigod’s physique. This led to discussion around him as photos surfaced of him wearing a bodysuit on set.

Speaking with Extra while promoting Moana 2, Johnson has confirmed that he is wearing a bodysuit. What’s more, this is not a simple suit to put on, either; it took a couple hours of transforming and putting it on.

“That’s a suit that took a long time to put on. So, I’m so happy you said, ‘You bulked up,’ because when you say, ‘You bulked up,’ that means you couldn’t tell. That is a couple of hours every day of transforming, putting that on. We shot outside and when those pictures surfaced, I was like, ‘Sh*t, we got caught, ’cause we were putting up, like, walls so there was no paparazzi. But they got into boats and started shooting pictures. So, but I’m happy you liked it. I can’t wait. The movie comes out in 2026.”

Moana 2 is out in theaters now. Meanwhile, the live action adaptation is poised for a 2026 release.
