Game Freak and Koei Tecmo are collaborating to give a more serene, social experience in Pokémon Pokopia. It’s a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive that’s scheduled to launch on March 5, 2026. There’s even an exclusive Ditto rug as an early purchase bonus.
The trailer reveals that an island was left abandoned by humans, leaving it desolate. A solo Ditto was left without its owner, but has taken a familiar human shape to explore the lonely place. With the help of Professor Tangrowth, Ditto can rebuild the island to become more lively and hospitable for all visitors.
Ditto is resourceful with what it’s given, especially when learning new moves and crafting. Expanding Ditto’s resources requires meeting new Pokémon in their comfortable habitats. The most common habitat is wild grass, though other Pokémon may be discovered by the seashore or by placing specific items like a punching bag. It’s even possible to find Pokémon that request assistance in uncomfortable habitats.
Ditto can socialize with other Pokémon to make memorable moments. Some Pokémon may request some help, like visiting specific habitats or using certain Pokémon moves to open new areas. Bonding with more Pokémon opens new crafting opportunities, like gardening crops and building houses.
The game also allows Ditto to meet other Dittos through online multiplayer or GameShare. Every Ditto can work together to build more ambitious projects or hang out together with other Pokémon. It’s even possible to have others pose for photos through the reliable Pokedex.
There’s a lot to discover in the world with wild Pokémon and hidden territory. There might also be some new Pokémon that’s introduced in the Pokémon world.
