Tekken boss tried to convince KFC to let Colonel Sanders fight

If you thought the I Love You, Colonel Sanders! dating sim was weird, there’s an alternate universe where the Colonel was introduced as a fighter in Tekken. What’s even more shocking is this was before the aforementioned dating sim.

In an interview with TheGamer, Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada opened up about making efforts to bring this fried chicken icon into the gaming space as part of Tekken. Unfortunately, this was shot down with a “bad look.”

Immediately after the idea was shot down, he assumed it was because KFC simply didn’t want its icon to be used in any games, but since then the mascot for the fried chicken chain has appeared in a dating sim, leading to the team just expecting the brand didn’t want Colonel Sanders to be duking it out with the rest of the Tekken roster.

Frankly, it’s just wild to think KFC would prefer its mascot, which based off of a real person, appear in a dating sim over something like a fighting game or just stick away from the gaming angle altogether. We’re not gonna lie, it would’ve been interesting to see Kazuma and the Colonel brawl.
