Star Wars Battlefront 2 sees surge of popularity

It seems thanks to May 4 and the success of Andor Season 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2 has seen a decent kickback from it, with surging players. Alternatively, it might just be because the game looks rather good for a 2017 game.

As pointed out by Insider Gaming, more creators have been pushing out content, such jackfrags, who saw a spike in popularity with the game.

Heading to SteamDB, the game still doesn’t peak beyond its all-time peak back at launch with 10.4K, but being just shy at 9.7K is certainly respectable for a 2017 arena shooter.

Unfortunately, this is likely where the Battlefront line of games likely comes to an end. With most of EA’s major shooter studios being relegated to Battlefield, it’s hard to say if the series will ever come back, but as pointed out, there’s always hope as Apex Legends seems to be tapering off a bit, giving rise to the potential of Respawn Entertainment stepping in.
