Square Enix asks fans to hold off on spoiling Dark Prince until next year

Square Enix is calling on the community to hold off on posting Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince spoilers on social media until more time has passed. We’re sure this isn’t talking about videos, but rather social media posts that spoil the experience for everyone else.

The Japanese dev took to Twitter to ask people to be mindful of others and not post content after the final fight in Conquerer’s Keep. It does have a stipulation that you can, however, show off monsters, items, talents, and the like that you acquire after the final fight, but we anticipate that the dev just wants people to be able to experience it without being inundated with story spoilers that hinder experiences.

There has been a mixed response, with some supporting the idea, though, largely, this just reads as an empty threat as Square Enix can’t really feasibly do anything to penalize users who do share spoilers, while others rightfully anticipate this won’t do anything to stop the spread of spoilers.

Regardless, at least we can expect those respecting Square Enix’s wishes will keep their mouths shut until January 31, 2024. In case you need a little more convincing to pick up Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, here’s the launch trailer.
