Skull and Bones launching on Steam this August

Ubisoft Singapore is finally bringing its pirate title to Steam. After previously releasing Skull and Bones earlier this year on Xbox, PlayStation, Epic Game Store, and on Ubisoft Connect. Now, it’s decided it’s time to launch the game on the biggest PC platform known to man.

Players can journey into the Indian Ocean and sail an open world full of pirates, quests, and all manner of danger. The game launched to middling reviews back on February 16 and currently sits at a 59 metacritic score. Gameplay largely centers around ship combat as players will find themselves in their ships for the majority of their playing time.

In our review, James called it “quite possibly the biggest disappointment of 2024 so far” thanks to its lack of content, only saved a little bit by “somewhat fun moment-to-moment gameplay.”

Players that are interested can set sail August 22 when Skull and Bones releases on Steam.
