Shadows of the Damned sequel on the table if remaster sells well enough

If Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered sells well enough, we could see the return of the IP with an entirely new game. Naturally, people also have to show interest in the idea, too.

During an interview with Gematsu, the idea of a sequel to Shadows of the Damned was mentioned. Grasshopper Manufacture founder Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda doesn’t shoot the idea down, noting that if it sells well enough, a continuation of the series could be considered for the future.

“If the remaster sells well enough, and if it seems like enough people really want it, then some sort of continuation of the series would absolutely be something we would at least consider working on in the future.”

The IP has been dead for some time, only really getting one game back in 2011 and then it was radio silence. It wasn’t until last year that Suda pulled out this old IP as one getting a remaster releasing this year in October. Needless to say, fans are ecstatic at the chance to see the game turn into a series.

It does require Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered to make a big splash, which considering Suda’s games are fairly niche in its audience; it could find random success or success within the community, but whether that’s good enough is the true question.

Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered releases on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 31, 2024.
