Sam and Max jumps back into action in new The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered

Last year, the iconic point-and-click sleuthing adventure series, Sam and Max, had seen two remasters. Now, the finale — The Devil’s Playhouse — of Telltale’s time working on the series is getting the same treatment.

Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered was initially slated to launch in 2023, but was slapped with a delay by developer Skunkape Games, which acquired the rights all the way back in 2018 when Telltale went under. At this time, not much has been shared about the remaster or what its done to improve the game, but considering the previous remasters of Sam and Max’s Save the World and Beyond Time and Space, it’s reasonable to expect stuff like enhanced visuals, dynamic lighting, better lip sync, etc.

In the game, the zany sidekick, Max, finds a mysterious object that lets him see glimpses into the future, but soon find that there are plenty of adversaries that want that power for themselves.

Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered is expected to launch on August 14, 2024 to the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG.
