Resident Evil 9 announcement is inbound

Obviously, Capcom is working on expanding the Resident Evil universe, but it seems the next entry is likely to be introduced here soon. Many are pointing to The Game Awards later this year.

Twitter user Project Parasol uncovered a new page on Metacritic donning the name Resident Evil 9. Smash Jump can confirm the page is still up at least at the time writing. It’s all too possible the page will get pulled later today.

This isn’t the first time Metacritic pages have prematurely popped up for the iconic Capcom-owned IP. A similar thing happened just last year for Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition before its announcement.

This new info tracks with a previous rumor from earlier in the year pointing to the game getting revealed soon. If the rumor is correct, too, it’ll release sometime in 2025.
