Pokémon Unite is introducing a new method to obtain Pokémon licenses called License Journey. This new update is scheduled for December 4, which will also remove any chance to gain AEOS coins from the game.
License Journey is the new system that relies on License points to acquire specific Pokémon in different stages. Each stage will have up to five selectable Pokémon for players to choose from after acquiring enough License points. It’s been confirmed that the most recent Pokémon will be added to License Journey once they’re placed in the shop.
License points are acquireable from the Battle Pass, events, and random boxes. Random boxes are a new addition implemented into daily challenges and missions. It can offer license points and other various items, including Pokémon licenses.
The new License Journey mechanic will replace the AEOS coins currency after the December update. AEOS coins are currently available to obtain until the new mechanic rolls into the game. Players can utilize the upcoming exchange system to switch the remaining AEOS coins for License points.
It isn’t until May 2026 that the AEOS coins and coin booster items will be removed from the game.
