Original Octopath Traveler travels its way to PlayStation

Following publisher shakeups, Octopath Traveler looks to be heading to PlayStation after years of exclusivity on the Nintendo Switch. The 2018 game was released to both Xbox and PC later on, but never made it to Sony’s flagship console.

Gematsu reports that the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee fostered a page that showed off ratings for the original game to the PlayStation platforms. Since the report, it’s disappeared, but of course regardless of the screenshot, even if that’s not evident enough, it just makes the most sense to bring the popular JRPG to all the platforms.

Additionally, this leak pointed to its sequel — Octopath Traveler 2 — releasing to Xbox Series X|S, which we’ve previously heard about back in 2023. Meanwhile, sources like eXputer assert it’s releasing sometime this month as a Day One Game Pass game. This is all just a rumor, but considering the logistics, it does make sense.
