Nvidia GeForce reveals breakthrough Nvidia DLSS 5

NVIDIA GeForce recently revealed NVIDIA DLSS 5, a new upscaling feature for enhancing gaming visuals. It’s designed differently compared to its predecessor by providing both higher resolution and updated in-game models with generative AI.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, described how the company signifies the importance of innovating in-game realities with AI generation. Despite its dependence on this type of AI, he also stated that it still opens creative inputs from the developers.

“Twenty-five years after NVIDIA invented the programmable shader, we are reinventing computer graphics once again; DLSS 5 is the GPT moment for graphics — blending hand-crafted rendering with generative AI to deliver a dramatic leap in visual realism while preserving the control artists need for creative expression.”

NVIDIA GeForce has confirmed several large companies showing support for the new DLSS 5, including Bethesda, Capcom, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, Tencent, and more. Many major gaming representatives, including Todd Howard and Charlie Guillemot, see potential in DLSS 5 as the next innovative step towards enhancing gaming graphics. DLSS 5 is currently scheduled to release in Fall 2026 for eligible games including:
