Nintendo’s average salary decreased, but it’s still a top-paying company

Nintendo has decreased its average salary by 2.3% as of 2024’s fiscal year, but even with that decrease, it still remains in the higher percentile of salaries in western Japan. The only company to give a better salary is semiconductor manufacturer Screen Holdings.

This info was shared by Diamond Online (via Automation). An average salary at Nintendo now is 9.627 million yen (or $62,000). That said, this is a dip of 2.3%, despite Nintendo seeing positive net sales and operating profits during this time.

It’s expected this decrease was due to the negative net sales and operating costs of 2023’s fiscal year, which were 5.5% and 14.9% drop. The Japanese giant is still ranked as the third most sought after employer, though.

We have a strong hunch that 2025’s fiscal year will be a huge win for Nintendo, what with the recent reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2.
