New SRPG, Unicorn Overlord, isn’t planned for PC

Vanillaware’s latest offering — Unicorn Overlord — doesn’t appear to be planned for a PC release. It sounds like the agreement between the publisher and developer didn’t encompass other versions.

In an interview with Destructoid, Atlus producer Akiyasu Yamamoto shed some light into the game’s lack of a PC version. Simply put, at this time there is no plans to release the game on PC, as per its agreement with Vanillaware, it’s only releasing it on consoles. Though, it doesn’t sound like Atlus is opposed to bringing the game to PC if the chance arises.

Unicorn Overlord launched Friday to great fanfare from critics and fans alike. It’s a step up from anything else that Vanillaware has made, with the most amount of content ever fit into its games.

“As a publisher, we would like to deliver it to PC users as well, but per our agreement with Vanillaware, we are only releasing it on consoles. In other words, there are no plans to port it to PC currently.”
