New snowboarding sim Tricky Madness heads to Steam Early Access later this year

Inspired by old snowboarding games from the early 2000s, Tricky Madness is heading to Steam Early Access later this year full of that snowboarding arcade game feel while giving it the modern treatment with improved gameplay, accessibility, and graphics. Developer Nathan Dearth is “ready to bring people the ultimate modern arcade snowboarding experience.”

In press release, it goes into detail how freestyling and speed are “the name of the game,” with your main goal being racking up a new high score. You can do this by typical tricks to build up your Tricky Meter before going all out and performing “Uber Tricks” for big points.

Tricky Madness is full of stuff to explore like hidden areas, branching paths, and shortcuts. Its planned campaign will feature am open world connected mountain complete with its own collectibles and secrets to uncover.

Other features include eight handcrafted standalone maps, eight fully voiced characters with backstories, unique snowboarding tricks, and personalities, three game modes, and more. At this stage, we don’t have a concrete date just yet. If you can’t wait to try, though, there is a demo on Itch.io available right now.
