New Battlefield will be a “tremendous live service,” EA exec says

Electronic Arts is touting the next Battlefield as we now know that the game isn’t just in development, but also in a playable state. The franchise has upwards of four developers joining forces.

Spotted by The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley on Twitter, EA CEO Andrew Wilson claims to have played the game with its dev team and it will be a “tremendous live service” title. Outside of its existence, and now the info we can feed off of from Wilson saying he played the game, not much is known about it.

Back in April, it was uncovered that Motive Studios joined DICE, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect Studios to work on the IP. We also know that its sunsetting Battlefield 2042 with Season 7: Turning Point closing its content updates. Due to that, we kind of suspect it won’t be long before it’ll start hyping the next Battlefield to whet the appetites of those wanting more of the first-person shooter.

In related news, we also heard know EA is planning on releasing two unannounced games this fiscal year.
