Metaphor: ReFantazio is off to a strong start

Atlus’ latest RPG fare, Metaphor: ReFantazio, is off to a strong start with a million units sold in during its first day on the market. This is pretty big, considering this is a brand-new IP from the Sega-owned studio.

According to a press release (via VGC), the game has surpassed the million sale milestone within the first 24 hours, with the number taking into account both physical sales and digital downloads.

Prior to Metaphor: ReFantazio, Persona 5’s global launch was Atlus’ biggest release with a whopping 1.5 million units sold worldwide in its first month on the market. If things keep going and more people catch onto the RPG, it will easily surpass the long-standing Persona entry as the studio’s top dog.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
