Mario + Rabbids, Red Dead Redemption leads form new studio

Davide Soliani and Christian Cantamessa have joined forces with funding from Krafton and 1Up Ventures to form their new studio; Day 4 Night. Decade-long Ubisoft vets Gian Marco Zanna and Luca Breda also join as its managing director and design director respectively.

Its website was unveiled, with a press release pointing to its first game being an “entirely original new game.” Soliani revealed his departure from Ubisoft back in July. During his time, he led the charge of the Mario + Rabbids games, while beforehand, he worked on projects like Beyond Good and Evil. Cantamessa, meanwhile, was Red Dead Redemption’s co-writer and lead designer.

While Day 4 Night’s first project remains a mystery, the studio remains focused on “originality and innovation” and “creating new content that pushes the boundaries of storytelling and game design.”

Krafton is the minds that own PUBG and recently inked a deal with Pocketpair to bring Palworld to mobile devices.
