Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD developer finally uncovered

As per tradition, Nintendo usually stops short of revealing what projects studios have direct connection to, with its first-party games being no exception. While we still have no clue what studio is behind Mario and Luigi: Brothership, we can confidently call Australian developer Tantalus Media the makers of this new version.

In a VGC report, it revealed that the studio, which is no stranger to HD ports of Nintendo IPs, is in charge of the Switch release. Previously, Tantalus worked on Skyward Sword HD and Twilight Princess HD, meanwhile working with others to work on Definitive Editions of Age of Empires I, II and III and a Switch version of Sonic Mania.

Of course, as previously said, unlike other major companies, Nintendo often shields its developers away from the public eye until the game is released or the studio’s project is leaked. The original 2013 3DS Luigi’s Mansion 2 was handled by Next Level Games

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD releases exclusively to the Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2024.
