Halo Infinite confirms its last major update for 343 Industries to make new games

The developer supported Halo Infinite for over four years before recently announcing Operation Infinite as the final major update on November 18, 2025. Despite abruptly ending the 10-year support plan for the latest Halo, this decision confirms 343 Industries Studio’s next plans to support the growing Xbox franchise.

The developers confirmed new content and rewards for players, like a 100-tier Operation Pass, point boosters, and armor sets. It’s even possible to earn exclusive customizations in The Exchange, including items from previous Events, Operations, and Fractures.

The gameplay cycle will remain the same with timed challenges and ranked mode. The game will also introduce the new Vacancy map when starting the new Ranked Season during the update’s launch. More ranked seasons are confirmed for the game’s future, but other huge changes remain uncertain.

Operation Infinite is currently the last major update since 343 Industries Studio is shifting its primary focus to more Halo games. The Halo franchise will finally progress with more Halo titles after Halo Campaign Evolved, but it requires more developers to deliver the ideal polish for the best experience. The studio has thanked everyone who supported the series up to Halo Infinite, which was viewed by Chris Lee, former Studio head, during an IGN interview as “the start of our platform for the future.” The studio is still anticipating commitment to the series with any form of support, including the upcoming Halofest in 2026.
