Xbox has announced that Gaming Copilot is heading to current-generation consoles. The AI assistant has been previously used on Windows 11, the Xbox app, and the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds as a beta version to provide helpful suggestions for player convenience. Now, Microsoft is providing the full version of Gaming Copilot for console players later this year.
Sonali Yadav, Xbox’s gaming AI partner group product manager, revealed the company’s new plans during a Game Developers Conference panel with various participating attendants, including GamesRadar. Its announcement hasn’t specified which current-gen console will receive the newly implemented AI assistant, though it confirms Xbox’s interest in providing the AI assistant to the general gaming audience. This main initiative for the future of play may not be limited to one gaming platform, which fits Xbox’s passion to share the Xbox experience across multiple devices.
“I’m excited to announce that later this year, we will bring Gaming Copilot to the current-generation consoles, and we will continue to bring it to more services that players are playing.”
Xbox was already preparing to push its upcoming AI plans with its previous patent for the help sessions for video game players. The patent reveals a solution designed to help gamers stuck in certain challenging levels or objectives. Ideally, the AI system will analyze the current state of the video game before providing helpful tips to overcome the in-game problem, keeping the player engaged within the gaming platform rather than shifting away to another device. The Xbox platform will face a significant change in 2026, which may influence other gaming platforms, depending on Gaming Copilot’s performance and reception.
