Firewalk Studios’ new live service Concord still releasing this year

The great — yet not controversy-free — success set by Arrowhead Game Studio’s Helldivers 2 has led to Sony unveiling that Concord, Firewalk Studios’ own live service game is still heading out the door this year. We haven’t heard about the game since its reveal back in mid-2023.

The news comes from Sony’s fiscal year report (via GamingBolt). Concord is said to be a PvP multiplayer adventure rumored to take heavy inspiration on the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. It will feature “vibrant worlds” and a “rich cast of colorful characters.” While Sony does say it plans on more details getting revealed, it doesn’t say when. Outside of that little bit of info, we don’t really have much to go off of about the game.

It’s rumored (via Giant Bomb) that a PlayStation Showcase is around the corner, happening sometime this month, but with no official confirmation, we’ll just have to wait and see. Considering the hefty controversy surrounding Helldivers 2 and its since-backtracked PSN linking requirements, it’ll be interesting to see the extent that Sony will require it with Firewalk’s live service, which will also most likely release on PC day-and-date.
