Dead Island 2 surpasses 10 million players

Zombie survial action RPG, Dead Island 2, has surpassed 10 million players since its debut last year. An impressive feat considered the last we heard sales-wise, it crossed three million across the board back in May.

In a Steam post, publisher Deep Silver revealed the game managed to accrue the impressive feat. Of course, it was largely helped thanks to its Ultimate Edition launching the day that it surpassed that player count.

It’s worth pointing out that in large part, we suspect the massive discrepancy between sales and players boils down to instances when the game made it to PlayStation Plus and — more notably — Game Pass.

Beyond the successful launch of the Ultimate Edition, PS5 Pro players have its patch to look forward to, with developer Dambuster Studios planning on revealing more about what it plans on implementing in due time, likely closer to the PS5 Pro’s release .
