Classic Double Dragon is going 3D with new Double Dragon Revive

The studio behind Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear, Arc System Works, has something else up its sleeve slated for next year — a 3D Double Dragon. The last game to release in the series was back in 2017.

Initially spotted by Ryokutya2089 (via VGC), the Japanese developer will try its hand at the classic side-scrolling beat-’em-up, but rather than keeping things traditional, it’s gonna jump into the third dimension, heading to the current and past-gen consoles and PC, dubbed Double Dragon Revive.

At this point, we only have a broad release window, with Arc System Works eyeing a 2025 release. The last game in the series, Double Dragon 4, didn’t get the praise it likely was looking for by critics and fans alike. It’s made worse considering the IP has been kicking since 1987.

Double Dragon Revive is supposed to hit PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
