Biomutant on the Switch is flying off the shelves in Japan

Despite lukewarm reception from critics when launching worldwide in 2021, Biomutant’s Switch version is apparently selling really well in the Land of the Rising Sun. In fact, it’s selling both as a digital download as well as physically in stores.

THQ Nordic told Automation Media that the game has sold 20 times what the Austrian developer had expected. The developer believes Biomutant’s success on the Switch in particular is more indicative of the console’s portability meshing well with the game’s RPG mechanics.

Considering THQ Nordic just launched the game earlier this month, it’s hard to say just how much lasting power the game will have. At this time, sales figures are up in the air, but we assume, if it’s going that well, it’s probably going to have some sort of celebration post in the near-ish future.
