Battlefield 6 skins will be “grounded”

Unlike its competition, Battlefield 6 will stick to more grounded visuals and avoid goofy crossover skins. It’s also more of a throwback to BF3 and BF4.

Speaking to DBLTAP during a London BF6 multiplayer event, design director Shashank Uchil confirmed that EA won’t lean into bizarre crossovers or silly skins, naming Nicki Minaj in particular as a skin he doesn’t “think it needs.”

“It has to be grounded. That is what BF3 and BF4 was — it was all soldiers, on the ground. It’s going to be like this […] I don’t think it needs Nicki Minaj. Let’s keep it real, keep it grounded.”

For many, this might be a breath of fresh air, as games, specifically the likes of Call of Duty, feels like it will partner with any high-profile celebrity or brand regardless of if it makes sense or not or fits the world of COD, such as Beavis and Butt-Head. Battlefield 6, however, seem to plan to be selective with its crossovers to be more grounded in what we’d expect to see on the battlefield.

Battlefield 6 releases on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 10, 2025 with no price hike.
