Astro Bot among September’s best-selling games in US

Sony’s first-party platformer, Astro Bot, is among September’s best-selling games here in the States. It’s not the top dog, that honor goes to EA Sports FC 25, but it’s still a good feat nonetheless to be in second place.

Circana’s Mat Piscatella took to Bluesky to reveal the top 20 games of the month. Trailing behind the top two, we have established titles like Madden NFL 25, EA Sports College Football 25, Star Wars Outlaws, and Hogwarts Legacy. We also saw a number of newcomers like The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, NBA 2K25, NHL 25, Space Marine 2, and more.

Astro Bot’s high placement among the best-selling games of that month shouldn’t be a shock for most people. The game largely built upon its established prior entry, Astro’s Playroom, complete with new uses for the DualSense and filled to the brim with all the PlayStation references it could fit.

Smash Jump’s Sam Flanagan said: “Astro Bot is nothing short of a delight. It takes everything that made that small tech demo a hit and builds on its best parts while improving on the shortcomings.”
