“You can’t imagine how much it means to me,” Cyberpunk 2077 director says on 95 percent rating on Steam

Cyberpunk 2077 associate game director Paweł Sasko is thankful for fans of the game and its high-praise, leading to a 95% on Steam. This being a far cry from how it launched.

Taking to Twitter, Sasko expressed how he never was gonna give up on the cyberpunk romp, how he knew it could turn around, and how thankful he is to the community. He capped it off with thanking people for the second chance before calling everyone the affectionate term “choom” from the game.

Cyberpunk 2077’s positive turnaround comes after the disastrous launch full of glitches, bugs, and botched versions, particularly the previous-gen versions, even leading to Sony upending its refund policy for the game and giving refunds to unsatisfied players (via PSX Extreme). It also led to it getting delisted from PSN for nearly seven months before finally ending back up on the console.

Meanwhile, we still have Project Orion, the public codename for Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, which strives to improve upon the life paths seen in the game, is still underway with Anna Megill, known for her work on Control, taking up the lead writer role. We can’t expect much, though, for some time, considering it’s still in the early stages.
