Final Fantasy Remake series gets new update on multiple platforms

Square Enix is starting the new year by carrying over Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on January 22, 2026. The Final Fantasy Remake director, Naoki Hamaguchi, emphasized the importance of sharing the Remake experience with more players to grow the community through his development team letter.

The developer note also reconfirms Square Enix’s plans to push the Final Fantasy VII Remake series for Nintendo and Xbox, scheduling Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for a future release. Once the second game is completed, the developers can fully focus on the third entry, which will end the Final Fantasy VII Remake franchise for every gaming platform. Its new title and final arc of Cloud’s journey will be revealed in the future.
