Pocketpair founder would “never, never allow” being acquired

Palworld developer, Pocketpair, is unlikely to ever be acquired, at least according to director and publishing manager John Buckley.

Rumors of this happened following the studio signing a deal with Sony Music Entertainment to widen Palworld’s reach beyond gaming. Naturally, this led to people speculating that PlayStation could feasibly acquire the independent studio. All that, though, has to go through Takuro Mizobe and according to Buckley to IGN, “he’d never allow it.”

“Our CEO would never allow it. He’d never allow it. He’d never allow it. He would never, never allow it. He likes doing his own thing and he likes being his own boss. He doesn’t like people telling him what to do.”

Pocketpair doesn’t really a parent, after all, with the release of Palworld and proving it not to be some long-con, the studio has found a rather solid fanbase willing to check out what it has to offer for future releases. At this time, while it seems it’s still largely focused on Palworld for its development side, Pocketpair has entered the publishing market and will kick things off with Surgent Studio’s next title.
