Cult anime Samurai Pizza Cats nabs a new game

Blast Zero and Red Dunes Games have joined forces to develop Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From the Past, an upcoming 2D action RPG based on the cult anime Samurai Pizza Cats.

Shared on YouTube (via VGC), the 2D action RPG will mark the first bit of new Samurai Pizza Cats content after a lengthy dry spell, with only a 2016 Blu-Ray release to satisfy that itch. This is also celebrating the series’ 35th anniversary and features much of the original English casting.

While at this time it’s only slated for PC, it does have a note that it’s in development for “all major platforms,” which means it’s likely eyeing a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch release, with the very real possibility of it also heading to the PS4 and Xbox One. That said, we do still have a bit of a wait.

Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From the Past is slated for a 2026 release window.
