NieR: Automata surpasses 9 million worldwide sales

Square Enix’s popular RPG, NieR: Automata, has blown beyond nine million units sold worldwide. Even so, the dev has been quiet on the IP’s future.

The milestone announcement happened on Twitter, with the last milestone pegged at eight million back in February. It’s quite impressive that the game continues to sell as well as it is considering the game is going on eight years on the market.

Square Enix has remained silent on the future of the series, which remains wild that the series has a shocking lack of games. Perhaps the Japanese dev will change that as the game continues to sell.
