Despite being a failure in basically regards — finding itself lambasted by both critics and fans alike — Joker: Folie à Deux has managed to make its way into the top 20 highest-grossing films of the year. The film decided to omit test screenings.
Reported by Collider, the flick only net $57 million domestically, making up only a little over 25% of its budget. Internationally, though, is a completely different story. Elsewhere in the world, it net $143 million. Were it not for the strong international box office, this film would’ve been a total disaster.
Joker: Folie à Deux is already pushing toward digital and Blu-Ray sales, no doubt in a last-ditch effort to properly recoup its losses, which is supposedly in the nine-figure range.
