Kingdom Hearts 4 is now planned for 2026 release

We’re gonna have a little ways to wait for Kingdom Hearts 4 as it’s now believed to be pushed into 2026. Of course, this follows the unfortunate news and subsequent confirmation that it wasn’t in the Summer Game Fest event.

Earlier in the year, it was reported that KH4 was aiming for a 2025 release, but now it appears that that expected window is beyond its grasp and will instead go for a 2026 release. According to the reputable insider — albeit within the Sega space — MbKKssTBhz5, the game looks “different now than it did when it was revealed.” They clarified that it’s not necessarily different in a bad way. It does seem like we’ll get some more details “at a later date.”

We’d hope that game has some sort of difference considering it did change engines since its reveal from Unreal Engine 4 to its more modern, able to produce complicated games; UE5. If what we hear here is true, it’ll be seven years since Kingdom Hearts 3 launched when we’ll finally get our hands on the next Disney x Final Fantasy mashup adventure.

MbKKssTBhz5 has gotten some scoops outside of the Sega space, specifically a Nintendo codename — Buffet — which many expect is a new Kirby game. Meanwhile, sticking close to home, they also discussed Sonic Rumble, a Fall Guys-like mobile game starring the Blue Blur and co. The latter has been confirmed and looking at the trailer, yeah it’s like Fall Guys.
